OUT OF CHARACTER
Our rules are pretty simple and easy to follow. If they are broken, we do have a three strike rule. - Respect - Please treat everyone as you wish to be treated! If you are found being rude to a member of the site, or a member of the Staff - you will be warned just once.
- Mature Content - Fighting, mating, and other things are allowed BUT they need to be stated in the title of the thread. We ask that anyone with a Mature thread to please use the Mature tag.
- Avatars - All big avatars must be 200x300. The small images will be 200x200
- Character Count - We do not have a limit on the amount of character you have, but we please ask that you keep up with them.
- Patience - With life and everything else going on, there is not always time to get to replies right away. Please be patient with others, and if there is too long of a reply lapse, please PM the other person to give them a gentle nudge.
- Posts - We do not have a word count, but we do ask that you write at least 10 sentences in a post. We are a literate site, and we try our best to make sure everyone gets decent posts to reply to.
- OOC Account - Make sure you create an OOC account so we can keep track of who plays who. It cannot be anything offensive or sexual.
IN CHARACTER
These are for actually RPing. If you see these rules being broken, please PM a Staff Member.- The No Nos - There will be no God Modding, or Ghosting other characters without permission from the other player. There are some instances, like Dominance Shows, when a King or Queen violates this rule, but if you feel it was wrongful, please PM a member of the Staff.
- Posting - All the lands are free to explore. The only time a member is not allowed to enter different lands are if they belong to a Pride and another Pride owns those lands.
- Joining - Before you can start role playing, you need to make a Joining Application and it has to be approved by a member of the Staff.
CREATING YOUR CHARACTER
In order to be accepted quickly, it's important to know exactly how to complete your application! And we are here to assist you.- Avatar - You must have an avatar for your profile to be considered complete. See avatar guidelines above.
- Image - The image for the application must be 130x200. You can add more images in the application if you feel it is necessary.
- Species - As of right now, lions are the only species allowed to role play. This may change later as the site goes on.
- Realism - We do not allow strange fur colors or designs. There are no wings, no elongated fangs, and anything else that would never be found on a lion.
- Eye Colors - The only eye colors we allow are: green, blue, amber, gold, and silver. If you think you might have the wrong eye color, please PM a Staff member.
Larger Image - History - Please be as detailed as you can about your character's history. Because our plot takes place on a reservation, lions can either have been born in the lands, or they can travel through Lewa Quarry to live in the reservation. If you wish to have your character brought in by humans, please PM Astral King .
PRIDE RULES & CREATION
Since anyone is allowed to have their own Pride, there are rules that must be followed to make sure it is fair.- Creation - Prides are a fun way to really get involved with the site. In order to start one of your own, you must first have three threads in the area. In these threads, you can speak with others, and even fight them. If two Kings are fighting over an area, there are more rules to that - which will be stated later. To start a Pride, you need 5 characters to pledge their loyalty to you and your Pride.
- Sleeping - Lions share a communal den. The King and Queen/s sleep to the furthest part of the den.
- Authority - In a Pride, there is only ONE King, but there can be THREE Queens. All of them share the same level of respect and authority. But each Pride will have a Sub Male. When the King dies or is over-thrown, the Sub Male will take his place. Queens can choose to follow their King, or stay with the new one.
- Gender Roles - If you have a lioness, there are MANY ranks you can have in a Pride. Males are only allowed a few as we wish to keep this as realistic as possible. If there are too many males in a Pride, the weakest ones can be ran out.
- Ranks - To keep it fair, a member is only allowed to have ONE King/Queen and ONE Sub Male. The Sub Male can be in the same Pride as the King.
MAKING FAMILIES
We encourage all characters to have a chance at having a family. Some cases are happily done, while others are not.- Mature - If you are going to be making a mature thread, please use the Mature tag.
- Rape - It is allowed. If a female is being forced to breed, she is allowed to fight off her attacker. It must be alright with both characters for a rape to be confirmed.
- Breeding - Lions do not have a "Mating Season". Many times it can happen after a fresh King is appointed or any other exciting news to the Pride. Lionesses help one another to raise the young. Often times they are seen nursing other lionesses' young.
- King - Kings can breed with any lioness he chooses. In some cases, a King will allow a Sub Male or other males in the Pride to breed, but this is a rare event.
- Fertility - Lionesses start reproducing at 4 years of age and they stop around 15 years old. Males do not begin breeding until they are 4 or 5 years old.
- Courtship - Either gender can initiate Courtship. It is often displayed as rubbing ones body against the other, or showing a heightened interest in the other.
- Gestation - Lionesses are pregnant for 100 days. Because we try not to force lionesses to be pregnant for too terribly long, our gestation period is 2 weeks. Cubs will be born during that time, but cannot be played until they are at least a month old, when they are introduced into pack life.
- Cubs - When cubs are brought into the pack, there is not a guarantee that they all will make it. If there are too many males, Kings have been known to kill them. Sub males and other males might try the same thing. Mothers will protect their young from all who try to harm them.
LIFE CYCLES
This is the whole life of a Lion/Lioness. If you have any questions, please PM a member of the Staff.| Day 1 | Cubs are 1 - 2kg at birth, they are blind and helpless. |
| Day 3 - 11 | Their eyes open but vision is little more than a blur for another week. |
| Day 10 - 15 | Cub starts to walk. |
| Day 21 - 30 | The milk teeth erupt; the canines come first with the back teeth a few weeks later. |
| Day 25 - 30 | The cubs are able to run |
| Month 1 - 2 | Cubs come out of hiding and are capable of the full repertoire of lion calls except roaring. |
| Month 2 -3 | Able to keep up with the pride and start to observe prey movements. Weaning starts. |
| Month 6 - 10 | The cubs are weaned but remain dependent on their mother until month 16, or even later. |
| Month 9 - 12 | Eruption of permanent teeth begins but may take some months to complete the process. Cubs start to take part in hunts. |
| Month 12 - 24 | Cubs make their first kills, usually on small or injured animals. |
| Month 24 - 27 | Both males and females become sexually mature. |
| Year 2 - 3 | Young males are pushed out of the pride. Young females unable to stand up to pride adults may also be forced to leave |
| Year 3 - 4 | Reach adult size |
| Year 4 | Females have given birth to their first surviving litter |
| Year 4 - 5 | Males take over a pride tenure |
| Year 7 | Weight peaks, mane reaches fullest extent |
