Tenali's physical appearance may come off as weak at first sight. However, those who think she is too weak to try to put up a relentless fight are very wrong and will see that she has some muscle in her legs from physical labor. She has a lean body and long legs that are good for running, hunting and jumping. Naturally, she is more agile than most lionesses. She has a broad muzzle with a big, brown nose. She still has some cub-like patterns on the top of her head and a faint, dark line across it. The cub patterns faintly show on her legs, barely visible. She has dark lines across each round ear. Her eyes are a sharp yellow with black lining her eyes, truly making them pop out. She also has black lining on her lips. Down to her toes, her pads are a russet color and each paw has razor sharp claws that are oddly a bit shorter, so she depends on her muscles and yellow-stained teeth for hunting, yet she is often successful nonetheless. Her pelt, on the back, is a dark type of beige, while her underbelly and inner legs are more of a color ranging from light gold to cream. Her fur is often quite unkempt and ruffled in areas, such as her chin, chest and her back, mostly where her spine lies. Her fur is almost never completely clean, so it never has a natural shine to it. Instead, it looks messy.

Tenali was born without a pride in a litter of two surviving cubs, the third dead not even a day after being born. She was raised used to the difficulties of life with her sister, Ariel, and mother, Tasha. Several times, when her mother caught prey it would be stolen by predators, lioness or even lone lions and they would often spend nights together with empty stomachs. They had often walked without much rest and sore pads was common through their young lives. Tasha had begun to teach them everything she knew and the cubs often observed her pitiful hunts when the rare opportunity showed itself. Ariel and Tenali were often too exhausted, hungry, scared or busy to play and when they had enough energy for tomfoolery it was used on trying to survive and learn. When they were about a year old, they had joined a large pride. It was the first time in their lives that the sisters could have their chance to be well-fed for a change, which filled them with hope, yet it was short-lived as the pride members often fought over food like corrupt savages. Every meal brought was a fight to get a chunk of meat. Prey was scarce in the territory. Another change of four seasons, Tenali and her sister were two years old. They were resting together when commotion had started once again, as several young males were getting forced out of the pride. Tenali, with little understanding of a pride's rules, confronted the adults, resulting in her and her sister getting forced out of the pride. Tasha, who refused to have her cubs abandoned like that, left the pride with them. They left the pride behind them together in despair.[break][break]
We skip another change of four seasons when the sisters lend aid to Tasha's hunts. None of them were particularly strong, yet they had smarts and there was strength in numbers. On one of the hunts gone terribly wrong Ariel was lost in a stampede, leaving Tenali's mother Tasha grieving. Tenali needed to take action and responsibility. Every time she tried to approach Tasha, she would either snap at Tenali or go on about 'not going through this again,' to Tenali's bewilderment. Convinced her mother had gone crazy, she attempted to hunt on her own for a few days. One day, she and her mother were hunting, not together, but alone. Tenali returned from an unsuccessful hunt to see her mother in a bloody mess, dead with her neck wide open. Tenali regrets every second of it but as soon as she saw this, she turned away, not even paying her respects to her mother, her caregiver, her only family. With no family, she trudged on her own, scarred from ever beginning a family out of pathetic fear of reliving the past.
